About Us

Sunnymead Montessori has been in business for over 35 years. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, creative, stimulative, safe, and clean environment for children. A child’s mind is extremely “absorbent” during the first 5 years. We use this to our advantage, placing focus on their physical, emotional and intellectual growth, while moving at their own pace. As teachers, it’s our goal to allow all students to shine with love and guidance. We try to understand and accommodate each child’s developmental needs, interests, and strengths.

Our school provides children the opportunity to learn through enjoyment—using Montessori materials. Learning is best achieved though curiosity and the use of multiples senses. We believe early Montessori education strengthens problem solving and builds a good foundation to overcome challenges later in life. I’ve personally seen this with my own children who were Montessori trained from a young age. My children were a large reason I became a Montessori teacher, having made the decision when my first son was age 3. Now, over 35 years later, I still enjoy passing down Montessori teachings to this younger age group and empowering them for future success.
